This list names ten generator manufacturers in China that an importer, distributor or OEM buyer can put on a first shortlist, grouped by the segment each one actually builds: portable gasoline sets, inverter generators, small air-cooled diesel sets, engine-driven welders and industrial diesel generator sets. The order follows segment coverage and fit for a first export order, not revenue, output or market share. BEAR publishes this page and is listed at number three under the same criteria as the other nine companies; that commercial interest is stated here so you can weigh it.
Use the list to decide whom to write to first and what to ask for. It does not replace a quotation, a factory audit or a certificate check, and it leaves out trading companies, engine-only suppliers and brands whose own websites do not describe manufacturing.
How this list was compiled
The method is the part most "top manufacturer" pages leave out, so it comes first.
- Inclusion. The company's own website describes manufacturing or assembly of generators, generator engines or alternators in mainland China, sells to export markets, and covers at least one of the five segments above.
- Order. Entries are ordered by how many segments the company covers and how well it fits an importer's first order (configurable models, documents by market, workable minimum quantities). Larger companies are not placed higher for size alone.
- Sources. Every statement about a third-party company comes from that company's own website, read on 7 November 2026, or from the stock-exchange and chamber-of-commerce pages named in the text. Figures such as founding years, capacities and export counts are the companies' own claims; BEAR has not audited them and has not visited these factories for this list.
- Interest. BEAR is the generator brand of Fuan Hehuoxiong Electromechanical Co., Ltd., which publishes this site. The BEAR entry is marked "our brand" and uses only facts that are published on this site.
- Not a ranking of quality. The list says who builds what and what to ask for. It does not say who builds best, because no public page can prove that for your order.

1. Senci Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd. — Chongqing
Senci states on its company profile that it was established in 1990, has been listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange since late 2019 under code 603109, and started with alternators before adding engines and complete products. The same page gives an annual capacity "exceeding 3 million" small alternators and motors and 2.2 million complete products, nine overseas branches and customers in more than 100 countries. Its product menu runs from inverter and gasoline generators to diesel and industrial sets, welding generators, pumps and alternators.
Best for: gasoline and inverter programmes at volume, where an in-house alternator and engine supply matters more than a small minimum quantity. Ask for: the test report format for one model, and a written statement of which engine and alternator families are made in-house versus bought in.
2. Weichai Power Co., Ltd. — Weifang, Shandong
Weichai Power's company profile says the company was founded in 2002 from the Weifang Diesel Engine Factory, is listed in Hong Kong and on the mainland, and exports to more than 180 countries and regions. Its energy and power page puts its power-generation engines at 18 to 5,450 kWm on diesel, natural gas, biogas and associated gas, with generator sets for data centres, telecom sites, standby and continuous power.
Best for: large standby or prime-power projects where the buyer wants the engine maker's name on the set and a service network in the destination country. Ask for: the genset data sheet at the exact prime and standby rating, and the service partner responsible for your market.
3. BEAR (our brand) — Fu'an, Fujian
BEAR is the generator brand of Fuan Hehuoxiong Electromechanical Co., Ltd., based in Fu'an, the Fujian motor cluster that the China Machinery Industry Federation has named "China's Small and Medium Motor Capital" and where the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products lists the China Small and Medium-Sized Motor Export Base, established in June 2008. The range on this site covers open-frame and silent gasoline generators, gasoline inverter generators, open-frame and silent diesel sets, welding generators, SG diesel generator sets from 30 kW to 500 kW and portable power stations. Every catalogue product can be configured to order.
Best for: importers and distributors who want small first orders (a confirmed in-stock model ships from one unit), a configurable catalogue rather than a fixed SKU list, sample units and factory visits by appointment, and one inquiry contact. For buyers in the Eurasian Economic Union, EAC declarations of conformity exist for the diesel and gasoline models named in those declarations, not for every model on this site; copies are available on request. Ask for: the written quotation that fixes voltage, frequency, phase, documents, the minimum quantity for production orders and the lead time for your market. 4. Chongqing Zongshen General Power Machine Co., Ltd. — Chongqing
The Zonsen group's business page describes this company as established in August 2000, building general gasoline engines from 31 to 999 cc, generator sets from 1 to 20 kW, pumps and pressure washers, with exports to more than 70 countries and annual sales above 2 million units. The group's listed company is Chongqing Zongshen Power Machinery Co., Ltd., code 001696 on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Best for: open-frame gasoline generators and small sets where the engine and the set come from the same group. Ask for: the engine family fitted to each model and the emission certificate scope for your market, since one chassis can carry several engines.
5. Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. — Yulin, Guangxi
Yuchai's company profile states a headquarters in Yulin, engines from 15 kW to 4,200 kW across 14 platforms and 49 series, and products in more than 180 countries and regions. Its genset pages describe a generator-set business from 2 kW to 2,800 kW.
Best for: buyers who choose the engine brand first and then look for a set, especially from mid-size upwards. Ask for: the genset catalogue with prime and standby ratings at your frequency, and the list of assemblers authorised to build sets on Yuchai engines in your region.
6. United Power Equipment Co., Ltd. — Fuzhou, Fujian
United Power's about page says the company was established in 2003 in Fuzhou, describes "over 1.5 million square foot of manufacturing capacity" and states a listing in Frankfurt on 11 June 2011. Its catalogue spans engines, gasoline generators from a 1.1 kW model upward, inverter generators including open-frame inverter models at 7,000 to 7,500 W, diesel, dual-fuel and welder generators, pumps and pressure washers.
Best for: dealers and importers who want several fuel types and formats from one plant. Ask for: certificate numbers per model and a statement of which engines are own-made.
7. Taizhou Bison Machinery Co., Ltd. — Taizhou, Zhejiang
Bison's profile and history pages give a 2014 founding with registration in 2015 and a location in Taizhou near Ningbo port; the two pages publish different headcount, floor-area and export-country figures, so none of those figures is repeated here. Its gasoline generator page lists more than 50 models from 0.5 to 15 kW on six production lines, and its inverter page covers 1,000 to 6,000 W.
Best for: private-label portable ranges where carton, colour and nameplate changes need to move quickly. Ask for: the OEM scope in writing, the sample lead time and the certificate numbers for the exact models you will import.
8. Shandong Huaquan Power Co., Ltd. — Weifang, Shandong
Huaquan's home page states a 2010 founding with headquarters in Weifang, sales to more than 170 countries and regions and three brands, and its diesel generator set page gives a range from 5 kW to 3,000 kW in open, silent, container and mobile formats.
Best for: project generator sets where the buyer wants a choice of engine brands on one chassis family. Ask for: the engine and alternator makes written into each set's specification and a witnessed load test before shipment.
9. Chongqing Camel Power Machinery Co., Ltd. — Beibei, Chongqing
Camel's home page describes a company in Beibei, Chongqing, reorganised in 2002 from the former Chongqing Diesel Engine Factory, with 50,000 m² of site area and an annual output above 500,000 units across its products. Its catalogue is built around small air-cooled and water-cooled diesel engines, open-frame and silent diesel generators, engine-driven welders and diesel pumps; the company states that it merged into Senci Electric in 2023.
Best for: engine-driven welders and small air-cooled diesel sets from a company that makes the engine. Ask for: welding output curves at duty cycle and the exact engine model fitted to each set.
10. Fuan Premia Power Co., Ltd. — Fu'an, Fujian
Premia's home page describes a Fu'an generator company established in 2006, with a Hong Kong company from 2004 and the Fu'an manufacturing plant from 2008. It lists diesel generator sets from 5 kVA to 4,000 kVA in open, silent, container and trailer formats, together with lighting towers, transfer and synchronising panels, load banks and alternators.
Best for: project gensets from a Fujian assembler that also builds alternators. Ask for: the engine brand options at your rating and the alternator data sheet for the set you are quoted.
Where Chinese generators are made: six clusters
Most of the companies above sit in a handful of industrial clusters, which matters when you plan factory visits or want to combine shipments. The map plots the clusters by the head-office cities the companies state.
- Chongqing. Gasoline engines, portable gasoline and inverter generators, pumps and engine-driven welders, grown out of the city's motorcycle and small-engine base. Senci, Zongshen General Power and Camel on this list are based here.
- Taizhou and Yongkang, Zhejiang. Export-oriented makers of portable gasoline and inverter generators and other compact machinery; Bison is in Taizhou, and Ningbo port is nearby.
- Fu'an and Fuzhou, Fujian. Motors, alternators and generator sets. The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products lists the China Small and Medium-Sized Motor Export Base in Fu'an, established in June 2008, and the China Machinery Industry Federation conferred the title "China's Small and Medium Motor Capital" on Fu'an at a provincial motor-industry event on 25 October 2024, as reported by Xinhua Fujian. A Xinhua report of 7 July 2025 counts more than 1,000 motor and electrical enterprises in the city, an above-designated-size industrial output of RMB 13.319 billion in 2024 and estimated first-quarter 2025 exports of about RMB 1.8 billion, up more than 30 percent year on year. BEAR, Premia and United Power are in this corridor.
- Wuxi and Changzhou, Jiangsu. Diesel-engine and generator-set builders; no company from this list is based there, but you will meet them in the same tenders.
- Weifang, Shandong. Industrial diesel engines and generator-set assembly; Weichai Power and Huaquan are headquartered here.
- Yulin, Guangxi. Yuchai's engine base.

Treat every entry, including BEAR, as a candidate to be checked, not a recommendation to be trusted. Send the same six requests to each company and compare the returns side by side.

Frequently asked questions
Are engine makers such as Weichai or Yuchai generator manufacturers?
Both sell complete generator sets as well as engines, so they qualify for this list. Many smaller sets that carry their engines are assembled by other companies. Ask who assembled the set and who issues the test report.
Is BEAR a factory or a trading company?
BEAR is the generator brand of Fuan Hehuoxiong Electromechanical Co., Ltd. in Fu'an. Factory visits can be arranged by appointment, samples can be prepared, and a confirmed in-stock model ships from one unit; production and custom orders are quoted with their own minimum quantity and lead time.
Why is there no founding-year or revenue column?
Because neither predicts the quality of your order. A long history does not fix a wrong voltage, and a large turnover does not guarantee a small MOQ. The comparison table therefore shows segments, fit and the first document to request.
